Cyndy BrucatoAbout Cyndy Brucato

Cyndy Brucato was born and raised in Chicago and is a graduate of Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism. Her first job after graduate school was as a reporter for the Lerner suburban newspaper chain, then as reporter/editor of the Chicago region EPA Journal.

Making the jump from print to broadcast journalism in 1975, Cyndy worked as a reporter for WBBM-TV in Chicago, reporter/anchorwoman for WDIO (Duluth), and WCCO-TV and KSTP-TV in the Twin Cities.

Cyndy moved into public affairs in 1990, taking the position of Director of Communications for the Minnesota Department of Transportation. In 1991, Governor Arne Carlson named her to be his press secretary and Deputy Chief-of-Staff. Cyndy left the Governor's office in 1996 to start her own consulting business.

In 2004, Cyndy left the her consulting work to return to her broadcasting and journalism career at KSTP-TV as principal anchor for their evening newscasts. She remained on the Channel 5 anchor desk until September 2010.
